The three-day Virtual Convention provided PAMS with the opportunity to inform and educate PAMS members and the medical community.

We had the honor of having the Peruvian Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Hugo de Zela, as our guest speaker.  Ambassador Zela was very complimentary of PAMS support of Perú.

PAMS President, Dr. Ronald Mera, presented an overview  of PAMS programs and missions that have been able to continue assisting Perú, even through the COVID-19 pandemic.  PAMS Board of Directors and Committee Chairs presented provided updates to the virtual attendees.

The Convention's Scientific Program "COVID -19 Update" was held on Sept.17 and 18.   We cannot understate the success of the Convention's Scientific Program. The two-day event had 2,000 registered participants from 18 countries, including Perú and the U.S., and they attended the Webinars via Zoom or Facebook Live. The sessions were recorded sent to all registrants and are available on the PAMS website via YouTube.

A distinguished panel of faculty gave presentations from Gilead Science, Mayo Clinic Health System, University of Kentucky, Michigan State University, Mark H. Zangmeister Cancer Center in Columbus Ohio, Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, the University of California in Irvine, University of Cincinnati and Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.

The PAMS Scientific Session was co-sponsored by the Peruvian American Medical Society, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and Universidad Católica Santa Maria in Arequipa, and organized by the PAMS Education Committee, lead by Dr. Manuel Valdivieso.
