The Peruvian Day of Medicine commemorates the sacrifice of a Peruvian medical student and scientist Daniel Alcides Carrión. By using himself as the test subject, he was able to demonstrate that an endemic disease typical of the Andean region was infectious and transmissible in nature. On October 4, 2021, the San Fernando Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, invited prominent members of PAMS to share the continued work and support of PAMS medical education and research.
