North Texas Chapter Missions

The PAMS North Texas Chapter was created to reach out to physicians and other professionals from North Texas interested in humanitarian activities in Peru. Since 2007, volunteers from North Texas have been involved in the care of over 2,500 patients and performed approximately 480 surgical procedures in poor areas of the country such as Ayacucho, Huancavelica, and Yantaló. Our volunteers have helped many patients, mainly children and young adults, undergo life changing and complicated reconstructive surgical procedures.

In addition, we have supported orphanages in Ayacucho and Huancavelica. A bicycle donation program for children started in 2013 with the donation of bicycles to orphan children in Huancavelica. The program has continued with a donation of 300 bicycles to school children in Huancavelica, Yantaló, and El Pedregal, Simbal.

In 2018, members of the North Texas Division of PAMS EF will return on a Medical Mission to El Pedregal, Simbal, La Libertad, Perú, to provide free care in Family Medicine, Pediatrics and Dentistry. We will provide education for nurses and other health care providers. We will also continue our bicycle donation program to school children.
